An Angels Story - April

Month Three is done - but not without some headaches.  My sewing machine was serviced so I had to find time before the end of term to complete the machine part one night at Mum's house.  I have finally got my machine back - only a few replacement parts required given that I haven't had it serviced in over five years!  School holidays are here so I am going to complete my May block early and work on few other UFO projects.

An Angels Story - March

Second block is done!  A little late but thankfully it was due to machine malfunction rather than not getting the task done.  I just hope that month three is not held up due to the sewing machine being serviced...  Stay tuned!

Antique Flower Garden

I know I have been quite slack in writing my entries but between classes, correction and my new challenge project I have been a very busy quilter.  Antique Flower Garden is finally finished and I have to say the the completed quilt is gorgeous.  Kathy, my Mum, has quilted the top and what she has done is amazing.  I have included a few photos of my favourite blocks.  I had always intended that this quilt would replace one of the quilts hanging in my lounge room but now that it is finished I have discovered that it is too large for the wall... Oh well I'll just have to make another quilt for hanging!

Who are you?

Sorry that I have been missing for a while. I will return once I get through all my correction (why did I become an English teacher??)  In the meantime, who are you?

An Angels Story - Challenge Quilt 2011

Well I guess you could say that I have finally selected my 2011 Challenge Quilt because I have finished the first challenge!  I am very determined not to pay any fines this year so I have made a plan for each month clearly outlining which block I need to work on.  I am rather pleased with my effort for January - just have eleven months to go!

With my renewed enthusiasm to get things completed I am also tackling some of the BOMs from my unfinished items (UFO) list.  My main motivation is that I am desperate to start something new but I feel I need to get the UFO list to zero before launching a new project.

I was going to sew but...

I was going to sew this afternoon after getting ready to host book group tonight.  However Charlie decided that he would rather be Houdini and returned home looking like this...
one leg done, the other left
I was just seeing off the intruder that was trying to attack my bone collection
Two hours later he was burr free and had a very quiet hour inside before going out to have his dinner and then disappearing again.  I was not amused!

Another UFO bites the dust!

I have just finished another UFO project.  Hooray for me!
my completed Leanne Beasley's stitchery project from the Immerse yourself in stitchery day last September

At the start of 2010 I made a list of all of my unfinished projects.  Obviously things I started during the year were also added to the list!  In Challenge Group we have to show progress on the completion of projects from the list - so far I had reduced my list by three items.  My challenge for 2011 is to try and get the list as close to finished as possible.  What do you think about my chances?
My UFO list...
